Tower Hamlets Archives

On Tuesday 10th June, 2012 I paid a visit to Tower Hamlets Archives in Bancroft Road in Mile End. While one of my daughters did some family research, I spent a fascinating hour looking through club photos that Maxie Lea had very sensibly donated to the Archives after the New Cambridge club was disbanded. I thoroughly commend this wonderful way of looking back at what the club did for us all back in those halycon days. If you decide to try this experience drop me a line and I will tell you how to proceed.

Hi

My name is Roger Posener, my Dad was Simon Posener and was treasurer of the New Cambridge Boys Club in the 50's and maybe early 60's. I recall have Dad's friends over to our house in Harrow. I especially remember "T" and the camps at Hastings and Worthing.

Dad passed away 2 weeks ago at the age of 91 and I thought I would Google the club as Dad never wanted to talk about the past especially after my Mum, Betty passed away 4 years ago. It was quite a surprise to find your blog.

I would really like to meet up. Email me on roger@netsiteconsultants.co.uk. I have children in London and come down quite often.

Looking forward to hearing from you.

Hi

My name is Roger Posener and my Dad was Simon Posener. Dad passed away at the age of nearly 92, two weeks ago. After my Mum passed away 4 years ago he never wanted to speak about the past, but I recall him being the secretary of the New Cambridge Boys Club during the 50's and regularly seeing his club friends at our home in Harrow. I especially remember "T" and summer holidays at the camps in Hastings and Worthing.

I was thinking about my Dad's past and thought I would google the club. I was very surprised to see your entry.

I come to London quite often and really would like to meet up and visit the archive. We have very few pictures and it would be nice to build up some history.

I can be contacted at rogerposener@gmail.com

Kind regards

Roger
